{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

A Keeper
Author/illustrator Kathryn Otashi came to school the other week to sign books for the kids. There was a form sent home with every student listing 4 of her books to choose from, but Bunny really wanted Simon and the Sock Monster to be signed and she also brought What Emily Saw and had it inscribed for Carter (awww).
Anyway, I thought it was really neat that Ms. O included a quick illustration with Bunny’s signing. This book is in the ‘keeper’ section of Bun’s bookcase, being a treasure to her. I agree: Otoshi’s books are wonderful, signed, or not.

Spring Training
Today Mr. Middle starts tee ball! Somehow I’d misunderstood the information regarding the season length when signing Carter up for both that and basketball, thinking it only overlapped 2 weeks, but it’s more like a month and a half. Oops! There’s no conflict on the calendar—I just try to only have 1-2 activities at a time and I count running club as one, since it takes about 3 hours of our time weekly. So, yeah, thank goodness for emails from coaches. :)
These cleats? SO small and cute.

Eager Spectator
Sometimes you wish you could explain it: yes, it’s irritating, but no one else on this planet will beg to watch you play Angry Birds and cheer like you just pulled a Super Bowl win out of the bag at the last moment when you topple the structures. Even this guy won’t be doing it in a couple of years. For now, sweet child, try to enjoy it.

This guy here can say “aminals” for as long as he wants, as far as I’m concerned.
